Ron Jones is the Lead Elder of The Journey Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. He has over 15 years of pastoral experience, including planting two churches. Ron is an independent consultant and coach to church planters with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia (SBCV) and also conducts freelance consulting work with pastors in the Southeast. He is a regular speaker for college ministries and men’s groups. Ron is the author of the book The Elephant in the Bar: How the Sexual Revolution Broke Sex & Marriage and How to Keep It From Breaking You. Prior to becoming a pastor Ron served in the US Navy in their Nuclear Power Program, and as a Surface Warfare Officer and Intelligence Officer. Ron and Tina, his wife of 30 years, have two grown children, Nicole and Caleb. As a couple Ron and Tina specialize in providing marriage mentoring to couples. Ron holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University, a MA in Biblical Studies from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, and a MA in Human Services Counseling from Regent University.
